First time using this type of product

"I have never been a person who has used mouse, gel, hairspray, etc. but I thought I would give this volumizer a try. I have long, fine hair and not as much volume now that I am in my 60s. This foam does add volume and helps maintain the waves I create by drying my hair in a twist. My hair looks best on day 1 after a shampoo. By day 2 there is less definition to go along with the volume. Not sure I am a convert to using a volumizer but this one I will use when I want my hair to have a little something something."

How much heat protection does this foam provide?: Thank you for reaching out to us regarding Foam. Foam can offer thermal protection up to 160 degree C / 320 degree F.
Does this product have any hold? Or is it just for volume and you need an additional product for hold? Thanks!: Hello, great question! Foam has a hold factor of 3/5. It will give you volume with medium hold.
Are you supposed to shake the bottle prior to dispensing?: Great question! Our FOAM is indeed an airy, lightweight foam product that when pumped into your hands and emulsified, it is easy to distribute through the hair evenly by raking it through with your fingers. Blow drying will activate the ingredients to produce all-over volume with 4/5 hold. It is unlike a dense shaving cream or "cloud-like" mousse that you may be familiar with in other products. You do not need to shake foam.
My first time buying, and I found the texture very strange. Half came out like foam, and half oozed out of the pump like a medium thick gel. Would love to know if this is normal! I tried shaking it, but no change. Thanks.: Great question! Yes, this is normal and we always encourage shaking Foam before use. The product is a liquid consistency with a foam producing pump. This creates an airy, lightweight foam product, similar to foam soaps and unlike a dense shaving cream or "cloud-like" mousse that you may be familiar with in other products.
